2019 Business Goals

The start of every new year is full of so much promise and excitement. It promises a fresh start, a new chance to accomplish your goals and the opportunity to be better than ever. I want to grow this year by bettering the things I already do and improving in areas I am already working on. This year I want to everything I do to reflect love and appreciation for this job! So here are my 2019 goals.

Business Goals:

1. Incorporate myself and my brand more into my business: This is one of my biggest goals for 2019. I want to incorporate my brand more into my website and social media. I also believe it is important to show my face more on social media. I want possible clients to know who the person behind the camera is. This will allow me to connect more with my clients which is very important to me!

2. Blogging: This is a pretty simple goal, but since I just started my blog last month, I really want to concentrate on creating content. I want to blog at least 1-2 times a month and make sure it is helpful information or gives you a look behind the scenes.

3. Specializing in seniors and families: This is something that is going to be hard for me, because I love shooting everything! However, seniors and families have always been my favorite to capture. I love being able to customize a senior session and make high school girls feel like models for the day. And I adore capturing the special moments and relationships in families. With that said, I will be taking a few other sessions I just want to mainly focus on seniors and families.

4. Serving my clients: I always try my best to serve my clients to the best of my ability and I want to continue this throughout 2019. I have been working to improve my clients service by creating pre-session preparation guide, questionnaires, and more!

5. Do more creative shoots: This year I want to put together more creative shoots. I love capturing the special moments in life, but I still am an artist. I want to be able to get very creative and do something for myself. Creative shoots allow me to have complete control and do more out of the box photos which I love!

So, I wasn’t sure if I was going to include this list, but I decided I should just do it. This list is some of the BIG goals that I have for my business that may not happen this year, or even ever! These are those goals that you dream about and work for. These may not be realistic right now…but these are the goals that I want to achieve at some point in my life.

1. Charity shoots: I want to give back through photography! One way I want to do this is by giving a portion of proceeds made from sessions to a charity. It is important to me to give back to those in need whether it is people or animals. I hope to do this through my business in multiple ways.

2. Shoots for pediatric cancer patients: I found an account on Instagram that is a program for pediatric cancer patients to get a free session. As soon as I saw this account and read the stories on each photo, I knew I wanted to be a part of this! Giving these children and parents photos they can cherish is the least I could do, and I know it means so much to the families. I am going to work hard to have the time and resources to become a part of this wonderful program!

3. Photographer educator: I want to help anyone starting out in photography or wanting to improve. I love educating others and have the knowledge on how to because I am working on my education degree! One day I hope to offer courses and mentorships besides my sessions.

There are my 2019 and overall business goals! I am excited for the new year and working hard to achieve my goals. I will be cheering you on as you set your goals! I believe in you!
