Type of Photographer I Am and Why I Chose it

Ever since I picked up a camera and started taking photos for my photography class, I was in love with it! I was always drawn to portraits. I have an eye for portraits, not so much landscape photography. I just love capturing the true beauty of people and their personality through their photos.

I am a natural light photographer specializing in senior, children, and family portraits. As a photographer it is best to specialize in a certain area and not try to do everything. I always love taking photos of individuals which is why I wanted to specialize in seniors. Seniors are my absolute favorite because each session is completely special! Each session you create to individualize to that senior. I also chose to specialize in children because they are so much fun! They are the cutest and have these amazing personalities. I like to let the children do their own thing and just capture their true selves. With the family sessions we do more posing, but I am taking photos constantly during the down time also to capture the family being their normal selves.

A natural light photographer means that I only shoot sessions outside. I am a huge fan of natural light because it is absolutely beautiful and easier to work with. Natural light can make your skin glow especially during golden hour which is my favorite time to take photos! Golden hour is the short time before the sunsets and has the most beautiful light. Artificial light tends to be harsh on skin and hard to work with. Then inside light tends to be difficult to work with because there usually is not enough light or gives off a yellow tint. Therefore, I love being outside in the natural like that makes your skin look great and can have amazing light!
